Reflections on a visit and broadcast...

Glass Wall at XM Performance Theater

CAP: Looking from the Performance Theater control room across the mixing console and into the studioThe Young Harmony live broadcast in November 2006 originated from XM Radio's state-of-the-art Performance Theater, and it truly is that ... a facility for broadcasts and recording sessions, not one with hundreds or thousands of seats.

As we've had a number of questions regarding XM facilities, we thought we'd assemble this small behind-the-scenes look for you, including a unique panoramic view of the studio.

You'll note that one wall is floor-to-ceiling glass facing a corridor, which allows visitors to view working studio sessions. There's an extensive theatrical lighting system and it is equipped for video recording of performances . Like all XM studios, the Performance Theater is fully floating for sound isolation.
